In the hours leading up to the fireworks display, there will be live entertainment, vendor booths, food sales, and an area just for kids with inflatables. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida will be conducting free health screenings and back massages at the health mobile display unit, and Cartoon Network and Bright House Networks will be presenting the Ben 10: Ultimate Alien Invasion. Children will be able to meet and take photos with the Ben 10 characters and have the opportunity to win prizes and giveaways.
The iconic Lake Eola Fountain was disabled by a lightning strike in August 2009, and repairs are currently underway. Water began flowing through the fountain this spring, and within the year the Lake Eola Fountain is expected to have a new lighting system installed.
