Magic Kingdom might be the place where families experience Walt Disney World for the first time, but the second oldest theme park at Walt Disney World has plenty to offer very young children. Epcot has a number of easy-going conveyor belt-type rides that riders of all ages can enjoy.
Baby friendly rides in the Future World area include The Seas with Nemo and Friends (because anything involving Finding Nemo is a hit with kids), the greenhouse tour known as The Land, and Imagination! featuring a flying dragon called Figment. The Figment character is pretty popular with children and the ride empties out into an interactive play area (as well as a gift shop--after all, this is Disney( The oversized sphere known as Spaceship Earth is another crowd pleaser--even if babies can't understand the history of communication and technology, they will enjoy the ride.
The World Showcase area has less emphasis on rides than Future World, but World Showcase does have mellow rides in the Mexico and Norway pavilions. Of these two rides, the Mexican ride is a bit gentler, since there is a possibility that riders might get splashed on the Norway ride.
Families with young children will find plenty to do at Epcot, especially during special events like the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, when the entire park is transformed by Disney character topiaries. The holidays are another special time of year, appealing to the kid in everyone.
