The Turks and Caicos islands may not be as famous as some of the more popular Caribbean vacation destinations such as Jamaica or the Virgin Islands. The Turks and Caicos are a sparsely populated archipelago located just south of the Bahamas and north of the Dominican Republic. Most of the population is centered on the island of Providenciales which has a town by the same name.

Grace Bay has a spectacular beach of powdery white sand and crystal clear blue water. The town of Providenciales is a quiet town with not much to see or do and shuts down early in the evenings. This is a destination for those wanting a quiet, tranquil holiday and don't need nightlife or a lot of activities to keep entertained.

The drawback of resorts on Grace bay is that they are mostly set back behind some sand dunes so unless your room is on the upper floor you won't likely get a good view of the ocean. Also, unlike some beach resorts where you are just stepping out your patio door to the water, the resorts tend to extend away from the beach, so you won't likely have that right on the water feel.
