Looking for the best St. John resort? Here are the top 5 best resorts on St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The Island of St. John is a popular Caribbean vacation getaway for those who want to have some nice quiet time. Most of the island of Saint John is preserved as a park, which means few people. Access is by boat from St. Thomas so there is limited traffic on the island. St. John is a top wedding and honeymoon destination as well. ( I have ranked the top 10 resorts on St. Thomas here.)
The best resorts on St. John are nestled on secluded beaches and surrounded by lush green hills. St. John isn't an island you go to if you need a lot of entertainment and nightlife, as the pace and lifestyle is slow and peaceful.

With the limited supply of resorts on St. John many people opt to stay on St. Thomas where there is more hotel choices and shopping and nightlife, while making day trips to St. John for snorkeling or sightseeing. St. John is known for it's great snorkeling of the coral reefs that surround the island.
There are only 14 resorts on the entire island, so here I will be ranking the top 5 according to traveler's reviews. I researched several review sources and combined them to produce a accurate, objective list of the top 5 resorts on St. John.
Here they are..
1. Caneel Bay - Search Here for Hotels.com Best Hotel Deals!
2. Gallows Point
3. Westin St. John
4. Gallows Point
5. Cruz Bay Boutique Hotel
Caneel Bay is a fabulous hotel located on a secluded cove, you'll feel like you have the whole island to yourself. You actually can check into the hotel on the ferry boat from Redhook on St. Thomas, so there's no need to go to the front desk, just go right to your room once you arrive. (I have a photo of Caneel Bay at the top of this post, map below)

Caneel Bay is a Rosewood Resort which also operates the Rosewood Little Dix Bay, which is a top rated resort on the British Virgin Island of Virgin Gorda. Rosewood knows how to run a top-notch 5 star resort. They also operate Jumby Bay in Antigua and Tucker's Point in Bermuda among others.
Gallows Point is a beautiful resort as well but is built on a rocky point, not so much of a beach resort as Caneel Bay which has an amazing beach all to itself. In searching online I Find the Best Deals at hotels.com!
I am hopeful that this ranking of the top 5 resorts on St. John will help you to plan your best Caribbean vacation ever!
