Negril is one of the three main resort areas in Jamaica, the others being Montego Bay and Ocho Rios. Negril is a small resort community located on the Western tip of the island of Jamaica. Negril was a sleepy town until the late 60's and 70's as beach lovers started vacationing there and resorts started springing up.
Negril is famous for it's 7 mile beach, although it is only actually 4 miles in length. This beach has been consistently ranked as one of the best beaches in the world. Topless sunbathing is not uncommon on 7 mile beach, something to be aware of if taking the kids along.
